DeltaCraft Competition

The Delta State Teens’ Craft Competition is a project of SKILLUP NAIJA, set up to encourage and support Delta State’s Teens who are passionate about creativity, invention, and innovation. It is a search for DELTA STATE’S NO. 1 INVENTOR AND CREATIVE TEENAGER

How It Works

The competition is basically carried out online. Contestants will be made to compete for the ultimate prize by showcasing their invention/innovation in form of products like Generators, drones, robots, cars, diverse fashion designs, woodwork, machines, Ankara craft works, or other vocational, technical, and engineering craft works.

Entry into this competition is free (you can register here). No purchase or payment is made. However, participants must;

  1. Be an inventor or aspiring to be one.
  2. Have creative and innovative skills with a novel product to show.
  3. Have a picture showing his/her self together with invention/creation

PRIZES TO BE WON

The first prize winner will be crowned as the Delta State Teens’ Craft Expert of the year with a cash prize of One Million Naira (N1,000,000).

The First and second runner-ups will receive a cash prize of Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N300,000) and Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) respectively. All 3 top finalists will receive mentorship deals that will help convert their inventions into commercial products.

Other top 17 contestants that do not fall in the 3 categories above get access to online training/coaching on how to convert their invention/creation into commercial products and attract investors.

BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS:

1. Billboard display of Top winners with their school names mounted across the State.

2. Public recognition and commendation by the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, Chairman, Delta State Secondary schools Board, and other dignitaries.

3. Free training on Coding and Robotics for the schools of Top Winners.
